Mr. Neblett has 35 years’ experience in law enforcement prior to his retirement in March of this year. Mr. Neblett has 29 years of experience of working for the Bermuda Police Force and prior to relocating to Bermuda, he worked for the Barbados Defence Force and the Royal Barbados Police Force for six years.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Neblett was a Senior Detective in the Criminal Investigations Unit for twenty years. He has also been an Acting Detective Sergeant in the Serious and Organized Crime Unit and CIU. Mr. Neblett also performed Detective duties in the Passenger Analysis Unit (PAU) of the Special Branch, the Joint Importation Squad (JIU) Narcotics Unit and was a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
During his tenure, Mr. Neblett received Commendations, Merit Awards, Heroes Awards, letters of thanks and good work and was recognized with the Constable of the Year Award. He has also been the recipient of certification from the US Secret Service and the State Olympic Law Enforcement Commission of Georgia along with a myriad of qualifying certificates from varying colleges and Universities in Investigations, Critical Incident Stress Management and Sensormatic.
Most recently, Mr. Neblett received his Level 2 Door Supervisors SIA (Security Industries Authority) UK based certification through the National Training Board and also completed a Level 3 SIA certification course of study held at the Bermuda Regiment in Close Protection. Mr. Neblett is also the recipient of the Bermuda Police Service, Long Service Medal (LSM), the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal (QGJM) and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal (QDJM).
Mr. Neblett is also the holder of two (2) Bronze Medallions issued by the Royal Life Saving Society and is fully trained in first Aid, CPR and EMD application by the St. John’s Ambulance.
In November 2015, Mr. Neblett who is currently the President of the Barbados Association of Bermuda (BAOB) was recognized for his invaluable service to the Barbados Association of Bermuda with the Life Time Achievement Award. Mr. Neblett also attained his Private Investigators License through the Ontario Provincial Police Service and was employed as a Retail Investigator in the Shoppers Drug Mart chain of pharmacies.
Mr. Neblett is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Global Management having been accepted to the degree program at the University of Salford, Manchester.
Mr. Neblett performed Detective duties in the Passenger Analysis Unit (PAU) of the Special Branch in collaboration with United States Border Protection Services and Bermuda Customs and Immigration personnel, where his responsibilities consisted of passenger movement in and out of Bermuda, travel control for those persons who were on the Stop List, receiving and giving intelligence on suspicious persons and activities in the air terminal, monitoring the departure lounge to ensure travelers weren’t collecting and delivering suspicious packages to other travelers or staff, checking all flights to ensure that nothing suspicious was being smuggled in or out of the island and gathering information/intelligence pertaining to any and all complaints and reports to the PAU.
Mr. Neblett was also attached to the Joint Importation Squad (JIU) Narcotics Unit where he worked closely with a combined team of Bermuda Customs Agents where he performed duties in the control and interdiction of drugs and firearms entering Bermuda, Daily responsibilities were not only to interdict but to monitor the Freight Shed, staff movement on persons of interest, gathering criminal intelligence, making arrest and also accompanying suspected persons to the hospital who smuggled drugs internally. During this duty, responsibilities also included escorting protected witnesses to the secure area of the airport where they were in turn escorted off the island to a secure location overseas.
